We love easy DIY's and Easter is the perfect time of year to make simple, (and cute we might add) decorations in under a day.  So, grab your creativity cap and let's get started!

Items Needed

  • Wooden Easter Bunny
  • Wooden Eggs
  • Wiping Wood Stain Aerosols (colors of your choice)
  • Painter's Tape
  • Paper
  • Level
  • Pencil
  • Gloves (latex or latex free)
  • Rag
  • Burlap Ribbon
  • Easter Grass

 Items Needed

The Wooden Bunny, Wooden Eggs and Easter Grass were purchased at a local art and craft store. The gloves are handy to have for easy clean-up after using the stains. You may want to have several pair, one for each of the stain colors you choose.

Step One

We first needed to decide how many different areas we wanted to divide the bunny into for staining. We decided to divide it into three areas. Using a level and pencil we marked the divided areas. Using the painter's tape and paper we covered-up the areas we didn't want stained.

Step 1

Step Two

The Wiping Wood Stains we used were Modern Mahogany, Dark Red Mahogany and Medium Walnut.

Step 2

We decided to spray the Wiping Wood Stain onto a rag and then apply it. This would prevent the stain from applying too thick and would give us a nice look for the grain.

Step Three

The Wiping Wood Stain Aerosol also comes in a White, so we decided to let our creativity spring by spraying a little bit of white spackle over a base stain on the ears of the bunny. (Your choice.)

Step 3

Step Four

You can't have an Easter Bunny without eggs, so we found some wooden eggs to decorate with our stains. We varied the stain colors on the eggs. For fun we used the Wiping Wood Stain Aerosol, White and spackled a couple of the eggs.

Step 4

Step Five

After the bunny and eggs dried, we made a cute bow with our Burlap Ribbon and added our Easter Grass to complete the project.
