DIY Clover Magnet

March 09, 2018

St. Patrick's Day is quickly approaching, and we couldn't be more excited! We love creating custom DIY crafts, and for St. Patrick's Day, we made Clover Magnets! This craft is perfect for both kids and adults. Best part? It's easy to make!

This blog was inspired by this Play Dough and Popsicles pin.

Supplies needed

For this quick craft, you'll only need 5 things.

  • Fil-Stik in your choice of color. We used Hunter Green.
  • 3 wooden heart cut outs
  • Hot glue gun
  • Magnet
  • Ribbon or anything else you may want to decorate with

Step One

First, you need to color in the wooden hearts with your  Fil-Stik. If you've never used it before, there's no need to worry! Fil-Stiks are extremely easy to use. They work just like crayons and are specially made to use on wood. Color both sides while firmly pressing down.

Step Two

After all of your hearts are colored, it is time to glue them together. Using a hot glue gun, place a small bead of glue on one side of one heart near the bottom.

You will then place the bottom of the second heart in the glue, making sure that it is at an angle (as pictured below).

You will then repeat this for the third heart, making sure to have it angled on the other side (as pictured below) to make the clover shape.

Step Three

Once the glue is dry and set (this should take no more than 5 minutes), get rid of any excess glue strings or fly-aways. At this point, you can add your decorations.

Step Four

Flip your project over, and attach your magnet.  And just like that, you have a simple and cute St. Patrick's Day craft in a short amount of time.
