Ikea® Hacks

When we think DIY, we think of Tasha from Designer Trapped. Here are some of our favorite hacks she's done recently on her IKEA® furniture using none other than Mohawk Consumer Products! Really. These fixes are something you have to see to believe.

3-in-1 Repair Stick

1

The 3-in-1 Repair Stick is the easiest way to tackle those scratches, nicks and dents on wood surfaces. You can fill in any deep damages using the Fil-Stik® semi-soft wax filler stick side, then follow up with the Leveler Cap to remove excess material. You'll be left with a smooth finish like the damage never happened. Use the marker side to add color stain to worn edges and minor scratches.

If there's one thing Tasha from Designer Trapped knows, it's the value behind repurposing and loving your furniture for as long as you can. But with two kids on her hands, it's sometimes hard to spare pieces from accidentally getting bumped around here and there. This is why we love her hack for using our 3-in-1 Repair Stick to perfectly match the paint and stain of her IKEA® wood furniture.

Our favorite trick? Use our 3-in-1 Repair Stick in Black and Brown together to get that classic IKEA® black-brown color that we love! Mohawk Color M319-3000 Black is a color match for IKEA® color Black.

Epoxy Putty Stick

5

Nail holes or broken corners, our Epoxy Putty Stick allows you to restore, rebuild and repair wood and other hard surfaces for a durable and permanent fix. These repairs can be anywhere from minor to major and even in high-traffic areas. Best part of using Epoxy Putty Stick for furniture repairs? The surface can be sanded, drilled, stained or painted after curing to make repairs that much easier.

We offer this repair putty in 12 different shades from black to brown and white to match the most common wood surfaces.

The best thing about buying furniture from IKEA® is that the pieces come predrilled and ready for assembly. But what if you want to change things up by adding more custom hardware, Tasha has found that filling those preexisting holes is so easy, you'll wonder why you haven't done it yet!
